Welcome to Community Birth Fund
A non-profit organization providing financial assistance to women seeking community birth services in Midland.
About Community Birth Fund
Community Birth is defined as out-of-hospital birth, typically in a home or birth center with the care of midwives. Community Birth can also encompass birth workers who support, low-intervention birth and treat pregnancy and birth as a life event, not a medical condition.
Community Birth Fund is committed to ensuring that every woman has access to safe, low-intervention birth services and maternal healthcare in the Permian Basin. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to women seeking community birth or doula support. We have identified trusted partners in the area - Certified Nurse Midwives and doulas who believe in the power of low-intervention and helping women experience empowering birth.
If you're a woman seeking assistance, you can apply through our simple application process. If you are interested in partnering with us or being recognized as a trusted community birth worker in our area, please reach out! We want to develop our network, find those interested in our mission and provide women with excellent care.
Our Mission
Financial Assistance
Community Birth Fund provides financial assistance to women in Midland, Texas who cannot afford community birth services. Currently, our assistance will support care from Certified Nurse Midwives outside of a hospital or certified doulas for birth in the hospital.
Education and Advocacy
Community Birth Fund is committed to educating women and families about their rights and options during pregnancy and birth. We advocate for policies and practices that promote safe and equitable maternal healthcare in the area.
Future Goals
As we begin we are limited by our funding and would like to make as big as an impact that we can in a small geographical area with a small number of services. But as we grow...
We hope to expand financial assistance to cover other maternal health services that are typically hard to find covered by commercial insurance and Medicaid, including, lactation services, pelvic floor health and maternal mental health services.
We hope to offer low-cost childbirth education classes and birth plan workshops in the future, including classes in Spanish.
We hope to expand beyond Midland, Texas.
